Artist Agreement
Effective 25 September 2026
This agreement is between you, a makeup artist who offers services through EMBACCI ("you"), and EMBACCI, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ("EMBACCI", "we"). It adds to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, which also apply to you. By submitting your application, and again by accepting your first job, you agree to it.
1. Your status
You're an independent professional, not an employee, agent or partner of EMBACCI. You choose when you're available, which offers you accept and your service area. You can work elsewhere too; nothing here is exclusive.
You're responsible for:
- your own taxes;
- any registration, licence or insurance your work requires in your region;
- your tools and products.
2. Joining and staying approved
To be approved, you must be 18 or older and give us:
- a valid government ID and the licences or certificates we ask for;
- a portfolio of your own work;
- accurate information about your experience.
We verify your application and may ask for more. We may decline an application.
Your EMBACCI certification level (from the Academy or from credentials we verify) decides which services you can be offered. Some services need airbrush certification. Certifications can expire; if yours does, you stop receiving offers that need it until it's renewed.
Keep your details up to date, including your base, service radius and availability, so offers match where and when you can work.
3. Offers and bookings
- Accepting: offers show the service, time, location and what you'll receive, before you accept. Each offer is open for a limited time. Accepting commits you to the booking.
- Arrive on time, prepared, with clean tools. Follow hygiene and safety practice.
- Before you start: read the client's preparation details (allergies, sensitivities, skin type), and patch test when in doubt. Don't apply a product you believe is unsafe for the client.
- Update the booking honestly: mark on my way, arrived — start and complete when they happen. While you're on the way, the app shares your location with that client only, until the appointment starts.
- Cancelling: if you have to cancel, do it in the app as early as you can. The client is refunded in full. Late cancellations and no-shows lower your reliability, which affects the offers you get, and repeated ones are reviewed and can lead to suspension.
4. Pay
- Prices: EMBACCI sets the price the client pays. For each completed booking you earn the service price less EMBACCI's commission, plus any tip in full. The amount you'll receive is shown before you accept an offer, and itemised in Earnings.
- Payouts: every Monday, your unpaid earnings from the previous week are paid to the bank account, Telebirr or M-Pesa number you set in Payout details. You'll get a notification and a statement when a payout is sent. Keep your payout details correct: we aren't responsible for payments sent to details you gave us that were wrong.
- Refunds: if a client is refunded because of your cancellation, a no-show or a confirmed problem with your service, the earning for that booking is reversed. If it has already been paid, it's deducted from your next payout.
- Payments stay on EMBACCI: don't take payment from EMBACCI clients outside the app for EMBACCI bookings.
5. Clients' information
You'll see a client's name, address, access notes, preparation details and messages. Use them only for that booking:
- don't copy, keep or share them;
- don't contact clients outside the app, except by the contact number they gave for the day, and only about that appointment;
- don't solicit clients to book with you off EMBACCI.
6. Conduct and content
- Be professional and respectful with clients and EMBACCI staff. The rules in the Terms of Service apply, including the rules on harassment and inappropriate content.
- Reports and blocks: clients can report you or block you. We review reports and may suspend you while we look into one.
- Portfolio: show only your own work, and only photos you have the right to use. They must show the work, not people's faces, and have the client's permission.
- Using your portfolio: you give EMBACCI permission to show it in the app and in EMBACCI's promotion of your services.
7. EMBACCI's responsibilities
EMBACCI:
- verifies and certifies artists;
- brings you offers;
- takes client payments and pays you as described above;
- provides in-app chat, navigation support and an emergency number;
- handles client support and disputes fairly, giving you the chance to respond.
8. Suspension and ending this agreement
- You can stop at any time by turning off Accepting jobs or deleting your account, after completing or cancelling the bookings you've accepted.
- We may suspend or end your access if you:
- break this agreement or the Terms;
- put a client at risk;
- commit fraud;
- no longer meet the requirements in section 2.
Earnings you've already earned are still paid, less any reversals under section 4.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows:
- you're responsible for the services you provide, and for loss or harm caused by your own negligence or misconduct;
- EMBACCI isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses;
- our total liability to you is limited to the earnings owed to you.
Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
10. Changes, law and contact
If we change this agreement in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and the courts of Addis Ababa decide disputes that we can't resolve together. You also keep any mandatory protections your local law gives you.
